Pack 125—Where Adventure Begins!

Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 125!

Cub Scout Pack 125Where Adventure Begins! We're an all-boy pack located in Pacific Grove, California, and are part of the Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council. We meet at Robert Down Elementary School, and are chartered by St. Mary's-by-the-Sea Episcopal ChurchFounded in 1967, Pack 125 has been serving Pacific Grove and the Monterey Peninsula for over 50 years!

Cub Scouts is a Boy Scouts of America program for youth in grades K-5. The aims of Scouting are participatory citizenship, character development, and personal fitness. Youth in Cub Scouts learn positive values, acquire practical skills, and develop a spirit of community service through belonging to dens and packs, engaging in meaningful activities, and earning awards.

Our pack does lots of fun activities, including...
  • hiking
  • camping
  • kayaking
  • group games
  • Float Night at the Monterey Sports Center
  • Pinewood Derby (Cub-built model car races)
Our council offers day camps, family camps, and shooting sports events. Depending on the location and event, camp activities include hiking, rock wall, canoeing, crafts, blacksmithing(!), shooting sports, water rockets, human foosball, fishing, and more.

With so many demands on your family's time, why join Cub Scouts? What makes it different? These are the two most important differences between Cub Scouts and the other things—music, sports, etc.—your child might do:
  1. Cub Scouts instills positive values.
  2. While other activities are drop-off activities, with occasional performances that you observe, in Cub Scouts, you build memories with your child by doing things together.
Consider this: in a few years, your child will be a teenager. If you want to have a good relationship with your teenager, you need a good relationship with your grade school-aged child. Cub Scouts provides an excellent opportunity to build that relationship.

Cub Scout packs are run by volunteers, and in Pack 125, every family volunteers. We need you to make it happen! Parents volunteer to serve in all positions, big and small. Some volunteers serve in year-long positions, such as Cubmaster (pack leader), Den Leader, committee member (treasurer, secretary, etc.), webmaster, and the like. Other volunteers serve in short-term positions, such as party planner, flyer designer, Pinewood Derby Trackmaster, and more. When your family joins, you'll have the opportunity to sign up for a position that suits your talents and availability. Together, we build great memories for our Cub Scouts!
